Bulova Watches History
The company was founded by Joseph Bulova Company way back in 1875 which was then known as the J. Bulova Company. Joseph Bulova was a Bohemian immigrant who built up the company incorporated it with great efforts and dreams. Later on in the year 1923 the company was integrated under the name Bulova Watch Company. Again in the year the 1979 the company was a part of Loews Corporation and after that the company was sold to Citizen by the end of the year 2007.
In 1912 the company produced its first collection of watches. These watches were manufactured in a factory in Biel in Switzerland. The company retained its production and standardized its quality with mass production which was never seen before in the world until then. In the year 1919 Joseph Bulova first offers the complete range of men watches. The first advertisements with complete iconic visual styles made his watches more popular and trendy. In the year 1926 the company reached such a height that it gave its first radio broadcast advertisements. In the year 1931 Bulova Watches Company introduced its first electronic watches. In the year 1945 Arde Bulova opened the first Joseph Bulova Watch making school. The school was specially opened for disabled veterans after Second World War.

The company finally got overtaken in the year 2007 by citizen. Their earliest competitors emerged in the 60s, which were now popularly known as Omega watches. This company was first recognized as the watches on the moon. Presently Citizen has taken over Bulova Watch Company by $250 million and together they are the world’s largest watch makers.
A new beginning
Bulova Watch Company in 1923 produced the first radio broadcast, heard by millions of Americans. They paid $9 to the radio station for broadcasting their first commercial. The emblem used by the company in their watches constitutes a “lone eagle” in his likeness, it signifies that an eagle, which is a very high flying bird is just like the company that will continue to soar even higher in the future. In 1940s the company became the first organization to produce electronic watches that the world has ever seen. The most famous model manufactured by the company is known as the “Accutron”, was sold in the month of October in the year 1960 for the very first time.
